20 Years Wolfenstein 3D
The one and only, Wolfenstein 3D, pioneer of first-person shooters, celebrates its 20th birthday this month.
Thus Bethesda has provided us a browser version of the game, so people who have never played it can have a taste. And on the other hand, real old-schoolers can reminisce their lost youth and cry a little bit.

Geburtstag in diesem Monat.Auf diese Art hat Bethesda uns nun eine Browserversion des Spiels geliefert, so daß Leute, die es nie gespielt haben, einen Eindruck bekommen und alte Hasen sich in Erinnerungen begeben können.

What I´ve changed is the german uniforms so that they are all weapons so they look more like the ones from Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Also the skins I´ve modded are all high resolution now so the little bits on them e.g. belt buckles, medals, and title cuff's can be seen more clearly. Em you might find the game will start up a little longer because it is loading the skins.

Änderungen: Die deutschen Uniformen und alle Waffen sehen jetzt eher aus wie im Original von Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Auch die Skins haben jetzt High Resolution Qualität und kleine Details wie z.B. Schnallen, Medallien und Manschetten sind besser hervorgehoben. Oh und nicht wundern daß das Spiel etwas länger läd, das liegt an den Skins.

Bethesda confirms Wolfenstein: The New Order - MachineGames’ new ‘action adventure shooter’ Wolfenstein: The New Order is coming to current and next gen consoles this year, Bethesda has announced.
Developer MachineGames is comprised of several former Starbreeze developers, and The New Order is “a reimagining” of the Wolfenstein franchise, says Bethesda. It will arrive on 360, PS3, PC and next generation consoles in Q4 this year.
Creative director at MachineGames Jens Matthies said: “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honour, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”

Wolfenstein: The New Order Pre-Orders Get DOOM Beta Access
Bethesda and MachineGames released a new trailer today for Wolfenstein: The New Order and announced the release dates for latest installment in the classic series. Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available in North America on May 29, with the European release following on May 23. The rather bloody new gameplay trailer introduces us to BJ Blazkowicz, protagonist of later Wolfenstein titles and now a resistance fighter in Nazi-controlled 1960s America. Unlike other Wolfenstein titles, The New Order is strictly a single player first person shooter.
Along with the release date and trailer, Bethesda and MachineGames announced a tempting pre-order bonus for Wolfenstein: The New Order. All pre-orders of the game will include an invitation to access the DOOM beta, details of which will come at a later time. Bethesda hat in einem Trailer zu Wolfenstein: The New Order auch erstmals das nächste Doom-Spiel offiziell genannt. Doom 4 heißt nur noch Doom und wer Wolfenstein verbestellt, kommt später in die Multiplayer-Beta von Doom.
Zu Doom 4 gab es schon jede Menge Gerüchte, vermeintliche Konzept-Screenshots und vage Ankündigungen. Doch mit dem neuen Ingame-Trailer zum Ego-Shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order nennt der Publisher Bethesda nicht nur dessen Release-Termin (23.5.2014), sondern kündigt auch ein neues Doom -Spiel ganz offiziell an. Doom 4 wird nur noch Doom heißen und wer Wolfenstein: The New Order vorbestellt, erhält Zugang zur Doom-Beta.
Auf der Webseite von Wolfenstein veröffentlichte Bethesda ein FAQ, das erste Fragen zur Doom Beta beantwortet. Wann die Testphase von Doom beginnt, will der Publisher den Vorbestellern per E-Mail mitteilen.

Raytracing-Spiele ueber Netzwerk
Wolfenstein Raytraced - Kaum ist es ein paar Monate her, dass Intels Larrabee für tot erklärt wurde, tauchte ein ähnliches Projekt auf Basis der Larrabee-Architektur auf: »Knights Ferry«, so die Bezeichnung für den Raytracing-Beschleuniger, soll das gescheiterte Projekt mit einem anderen Ansatz fortführen: Ähnlich wie beim Streaming-Dienst Onlive berechnen mehrere Server die Grafik und nur die fertigen Bilder werden dem PC des Spielers zugeschickt.
Auf Intels hauseigener Konferenz in San Francisco, der IDF, präsentierte der Raytracing-Spezialist Daniel Pohl eine Raytracing-Version des Shooter-Klassikers Wolfenstein.
Die Ausgabe übernahm ein gewöhnliches Notebook mit Core-2-Duo-Prozessor. Die eigentlichen Berechnungen wurden von vier mit einer Knights-Ferry-Karte ausgestatteten Servern durchgeführt und per Gigabit-LAN an das Notebook geschickt. Die geballte Leistung von vier Larrabee-Karten ermöglicht einen wesentlich höheren Detailgrad als bisherige Demonstrationen: Allein der Kronleuchter aus der Demo besteht aus über einer Millionen Polygone - mehr als ganze Spielszenen in herkömmlicher Rastergrafik. Prunkstück der Raytracing-Grafik sind die Reflexionen: Ob auf der Oberfläche des Autos oder im unregelmäßigen Glas des Kronleuchters: Spiegelungen und Verzerrungen sind stets korrekt - auch farblich.

Veil Jump Movie
Stonecutter zeigt uns, in seinem Video, Trickjumps im Multiplayer von Wolfenstein. Die Trickjumps wurden, mit Hilfe der Veil-Fähigkeit, auf WolfPro 0.1 gemacht. Es ist erstaunlich was für große Sprünge damit möglich sind.

Castle Wolfenstein Movie Announced
In an announcement made at the American Film Market (AFM), producer Samuel Hadida and Panorama Media said they've tapped Roger Avary (who also scripted the original Silent Hill movie for Hadida) to write and direct Castle Wolfenstein.The filmmaker had been attached to the project (then titled Return to Castle Wolfenstein) a few years ago before his prison sentence for gross vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving.
Here's the official boilerplate on the movie via today's press release: "Castle Wolfenstein is an action adventure film in the vein of Captain America and Inglourious Basterds. The story follows a young US Army Captain and a British Special Agent on a top secret mission to Castle Wolfenstein, where Hitler will be for the unveiling of a new secret weapon. After reaching the Castle, our heroes are confronted with Himmler’s SS Paranormal Division and must fight, not only for their survival, but for a mission that could alter the course of the War.".....
Und dabei legt Avary nicht das erste Mal Hand an einer Spieleverfilmung an, er schrieb zuvor beispielsweise das Drehbuch zu Silent Hill und arbeitete ebenfalls mit Quentin Tarantino an Reservoir Dogs und Pulp Fiction zusammen.
Als Produzent springt Samuel Hadida ein, der gemeinsam mit seinem Team Davis Films hinter diversen 'Resident Evil'-Filmen und auch den beiden Adaptionen zu Silent Hill steht. Und auch Solomon Kane (Das Kabinett des Dr. Parnassus) wird seine Finger mit im Spiel haben.....
Motion Comic HD Trailer Part 2
Auf GameTrailers.com gibt es wieder ein Wolfenstein-Movie im schwarz-rotem ComicStyle. Insgesamt sind vier ComicStyle-Movies von Activision geplant. Dieses zweite Movie lässt uns noch tiefer in die Story, zum kommenden Wolfenstein blicken und offenbart neue Geheimnisse. Wir sind gespannt auf Video 3 und 4!
