Finally, the first deadline arrived last night at 20:00 (BST)! I can confirm that there has been a total of 5 maps submitted for the competition and there's definitely potential for ET to see at least one new competitive map entering in to the map pool. As this is only the initial deadline, this period will be used for the map makers to receive feedback on their maps in order to improve them for the next and final deadline of June 7th 2011 at 20:00 (BST).
For those of you who aren't up to date on what this is all about can read the original news item here on Crossfire. In short, the winner of this contest will receive €150 prize and have their map featured in the map pool at my LAN event in July.

It's been several years in the making, but the 2.1.x series is finally being released as stable version 2.2.0!
The changes from 2.1.10 are short:Now that 2.2.0 is the new stable release, the 2.0 release has been archived. 2.3.0 is the next beta release, which already has sv_cvar support and Lua is currently being worked on.
Nach einigen Jahren der Entwicklung der 2.1.x Serie ist es endlich soweit, die stable Version 2.2.0 zu veröffentlichen!
Nachdem jetzt 2.2.0 veröffentlicht ist, wird nun 2.0 archiviert. 2.3.0 wird die nächste Beta Version sein, bei dem schon der sv_cvar Support fertig ist und gerade am LUA gebaut wird.
- Covert ops can no longer start with a Thompson or MP40.
- 5:4 aspect ratio displays no longer have part of the screen cut off (widescreen bug).
- Added checks for extended ASCII character exploits.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who reported bugs and security problems, and I especially want to thank the **DRC** and =DRi= clans for their help with test servers.
